Love at First Sight
Hi everyone, I’ve missed you! I took a break last week to focus on the inauguration, but I’m back this week, and to make it up to you, I have some offerings of the ~romantic~ persuasion.
February 14th is closer than you think, so today I’m presenting you with some Valentine’s inspired picks. I can’t guarantee you that they’ll arrive in time for V-day (two of these brands are international), but I think these tiny delights are good for gifting any day of the year.
Bitty Bouquet
Those battered, hastily-dyed roses you grabbed from the checkout line at Trader Joe’s? Just not gonna cut it, I’m afraid. These mini crocheted bouquets from Truc Crafts, on the other hand, are so exquisite, so dainty and delicate, that they look like they should be handled with tweezers and a pair of gloves. Truc’s craftsmanship is impeccable, from the unfurling petals of the white chrysanthemum to the bell-shaped lily-of-the-valley to the sweet baby bumblebee and ladybug. They’re perfect to pin as a brooch or boutonniere, and will never wilt on you.
Heart to Heart
Shop Cholla’s Valentine’s Day collection gives me the same vibes as the Madonna Inn; glitzy, bold, eschewing subtlety in favor of the fun and flamboyant. As a statement earring stan, I 💗💖💕💓💘 it. We got rainbows, we got sunbeams, we got heart curtains: these pieces are for people who wear their hearts on their sleeves and their ears. The collection dropped a few days ago and most styles sold out immediately, but don’t worry, a February restock is in the works.
Un-bear-ably Cute
Look at her! Look at her face! Look at her little heart freckles! Her name is Bunny, and I would die for her. Maia Stockwell makes badly built bears (her words, not mine), one-of-a-kind teddies that tend to stray off the beaten path. These are not your classic brown bears you’d find in a toy shop window; they’re shaggy, they’re lopsided, they sport fangs and horns, they come in all colors of the rainbow… and they are all pure, angelic cinnamon rolls. Stockwell’s bears are a charming reminder that even if we’re not perfect, we’re still perfectly lovable.
